This is verrrry rough. I think the moat looks absolutely terrible, but I think I like the sleeping dragon. I also shrunk the knight.

Gosh, that moat looks so bad haha.

The size of the Knight's good. I'd lose the crocodiles maybe. It takes away from the dragon. And yeah, glad you realize the moat's a bit ... off. Ha, but that's the general idea I was suggesting! And look, the shadow in the water doesn't look bad at all. The dragon's a bit off, the way he's laying, with his feet in that place, doesn't quite match up. Also, some red spikes on his backside on the left side of the castle couldn't hurt.

It's getting better dude, keep it up.

Check this out if you get a chance:

Perspective.

Yours is all over the place.

If you want the tower and dragon to be intimidating, you need to have the knight at "eye-level" for the viewer and have the dragon and tower soar into the sky above him. The dragon should be rearing up - looking down at the knight too.

Comment on mine?

Haha, the moat was literally me drawing, scanning, vectoring, and coloring in a few minutes. I also agree with the dragon's feet being a little off. At first I had one in the moat, but I had to change the moat so the foot got a little thrown off. I'm going to compleeeeeetely redo the moat, because it looks absolutely awful, and doesn't fit the style at all. I laugh every time I see it. I'll also redo the dragon's feet, add a few spikes, etc.

Blah. I didn't rip it I promise. I started this after I was random stock photo generating and saw a neat picture of a tower.

As hard as I've been working on this, I'm going to stop for a while to work on a completely different project. I will certainly resume after I'm done, but this new one requires my full attention!

erg... that moat!

Outside of that, the dragon doesn't look scary enough, if "scary" is what you're going for... 'till now it has almost seemed like the obstacles are passive.

You could try him perched "like a bat" on the roof, with wings extended over an arched neck. I'm not sure how easy it would be to do volumetric shading, or if it would be possible to put it on a shirt (probably not). If you could, it would be a cool effect to have its wings partially obscuring the sun with volumetric effects.

You should probably disregard that last rambling about volumetric light... I've spent too much time in the Blender and not enough in GIMP ;)
