As suggested I have made some minor changes to all the colors, what do people think? Is it good to go? If not what changes would improve upon it? And most important, which color works the best? My personal inclination would be to send them all in and let the voters decide, but it is not clear to me from the guidelines if I am allowed to submit the same design on different colors.

While I appreciate the thought, votes of "needs work" don't really help me without some more detailed guidelines. What specifically needs work? What has to be changed about it for you to say "yeah, I'd buy that!"

indeed I did, it was quite helpful! Just what I am looking for. You will notice that now the bubbles go in different directions, and are of more random size. I really think it helps the overall design, and it was a detail that I would have missed on my own, thanks, keep the advice coming.

Well, good grief. OK, so I realized afterwards that you had changed the bubbles, and my suggestion was to change them even more, maybe with the top right string, you could add even more bubbles so they go up near the shoulder, and maybe add a third string of bubbles on the left? It still looks a bit too symmetrical. But really cute!

I might change the lower left bubble set. It is curving the same direction as the bubble above it, and I think it would look better if the two strings of bubbles were going different directions.

Definitely agree with the cream.

First off, let me say this is without a doubt the CUTEST design I've seen. Ever. For anything. I love the hand-made look. It's so minimal yet so...pretty!



Personally I think the bubbles are a little...distracting. They look very unnatural...maybe if they were down lower, equal to or a tad lower than the jellyfish, and moved to the sides more away from it, too, for more spacing? The jellyfish looks like it could be moved up a little too...a little more centered.



But other than that, I have nothing. It's just those bubbles. Haven't voted yet, but definitely will pick Submit when/if the bubbles are touched up.

Thanks, the reason it looks handmade is... it is! Its a heavily cleaned-up scan of a pencil drawing.



Perhaps you can check out the previous version of this and tell me what you think, the bubbles are much less pronounced in that one, almost exactly what you described in fact. I personally think they are less distracting that way...

yeah, I'm inclined to agree with the last comment, the more I look at it the more I like the bubbles on the first version. What about the colors? Or should I just submit them all like this (or separately)?

I think maybe you should experiment with the bubbles. They look like they're in a straight line--you need to organize them differently.

I really like the look of it, I think it works best on the cream colored shirt. the two sets of bubble on each side makes it look a little too symmetrical in my opinion, maybe also play around with putting it off center, lower, higher, or larger. Really cool though.

I love the black shirt, it's my fav for sure.

I agree with Sheaman though, the bubbles look to organized and symmetrical.. I would make it al ittle more random and have less bubbles trailing.

After due consideration, I believe this is the version of the design that I will submit. If anyone has any other input I would welcome it, other wise I will bump this into the running as-is.



As far as color goes, I can't really decide on a favorite, so I am planning to submit all three together. I only hope that that doesn't violate submission rules...

if u do the black one with glow in the dark ink as well as the white... that would look sick... :D

Kawaii Ramen

After some time away, I have come back to the design with fresh eyes, and I found that the bubbles on the left were really bothering me. Now that I have fixed them, I feel the overall look is much better. Now I am throwing it out to public opinion, what do you folks think? What changes need to be made to give this the best possible chance?

I really don't see any change in your first submission. But i dose look cool. Maybe instead of bubbles you could have some smaller jellyfish or have bubbles with smaller jelly fish. Hope this helps! Also i need some help on my design, please comment here

I know the image is a bit blurry, the problem is I can’t seem to reduce the image to the required size without that happening. I will try again to get a clearer image.



On a related note, can someone recommend a cheaper (i.e. free) alternative to adobe illustrator?
