so i have a technical design question... i just finished up a design, but it's technically an "all over" design because it goes over the sleeve. what is the max amount of colors allowed for those types of designs? and is subliminal printing possible over the sleeve area? that part of the design is pretty rough and textured - not fine detailed - so perfect registration isnt a big deal. also, i know its possible for me to reduce the colors significantly, however the way it is now works with the concept - baptized by fire.
heres the design in question... would threadless have the capability to print it? ![]() bigger image here - http://asher27.deviantart.com/#/d3ah35w
that this didnt get a print at DBH.
![]() it did pretty well over there, it actually tied in votes to my print there, but unfortunately it was not picked for print. would this do well here? i know abstract stuff isnt really the style of threadless, but all other options seem less exciting.
i havent been here in a while, let alone purchased anything for myself since they switched to their own label of blanks (bought some for the BF, they shrank like crazy - major turn off). I was looking at some of the shirts on the front page, both new designs and reprints, and noticed they are on AA shirts. is this a new thing or a fluke? because if it is to stay, when i have some extra money to spend i will certainly feed my t shirt addiction once more.
also, when did this change happen?
design i made for the shirtfight typography contest, but it didnt get picked over there. would it do better here?
![]() btw, i know already from both emptees and shirtfight that the text isnt totally legible. i dont care – im keeping it as is because i have tried other ways of doing it and this is the best way IMO. to me, the overall design is more important than the readability of the text.
theres one more day left on pounce, so i figured id have a little contest... whoever guess closest to the end score, will win a free shirt IF this gets printed (im a broke college kid... if i had money now, you would get a shirt just for being awesome..)
votes and comments would be super appreciated, $5 so i can break the 3.0 mark!
hey all, i submitted a design of mine a while back to another shirt site, and while it did pretty decent over there it was not printed and is out of time. i was wondering if i should submit it here, if it would do any better?

Hey all, I have been MIA for a long time here. After a couple of prints elsewhere I have decided to come back and take a shot at designing on here... cause I think I have gotten significantly better than what I used to be..
I was wondering, however, what does it take nowadays to get printed here? Back when I used to submit fairly often anything below a 3 was practically considered unprintable, but I know that times have changed and this site has become far more popular with far more people voting, so I'd assume the average score has gone down a bit. Also, how many comments? Again, way back anything above like 30 good comments was considered in the printing range.. I'd assume again that now it's a lot more. Some shameless self promotion while I'm at it-
how fucking awesome the new loves competition is? like seriously?!
unless of course, you live in iceland... then its not nearly exciting.
so my goal in life is to become beattrix kiddo aka the bride aka uma thurman aka BADASS from kill bill.
just thought id share... to get one small tiny itty bitty step closer to the awesomness of beattrix, i will be her in her wonderful yellow motorcycle outfit for halloween. yes, im aware, its quite badass. i even got the shoes! so, what crazy movie character would you want to be if you could? |
