For the 4 Words or Less challenge and I ended up designing a tee inspired by own near-death experiences.
![]() In 1997 and 2000, I was involved in two car accidents. I survived the '97 accident only due to the fact that I was wearing a seat belt. I lost control of my car due to bad tires and excessive speed and slammed head first into a tree. In the '00 accident, a friend and I were traveling through the back roads of Vermont when we hit some black ice. Rather than plunging down a frozen 70 ft. embankment, my truck suddenly spun around into a ditch on the left side of the road. If either of these instances had gone the other way, I wouldn't be alive today. No college graduation. No beautiful wife and son. No budding lunchboxbrain empire. No nothing. I'm incredibly grateful to be alive and I hope, despite all of the daily trappings of life, that you feel the same way. I'm interested to see if other folks have been through similar or not-so-similar experiences so please feel free to post and share your near-death experiences in this blog.
Today is a great day. After six years and more than 100 submitted designs, I've finally scored my first true Threadless print. And not just Threadless...but Threadless + Gap! SWEET!!!
![]() Here's a little back story about Rock On. Rock On was originally designed for a community challenge - Threadless Loves Minimalism II. Most of my tee designs are fairly simple and I thought that the design was a great fit for the challenge. While it didn't win that challenge, I knew it was a strong design and had even considered printing it myself. Two months after I submitted the design, I received an email from Threadless stating that my tee was under consideration for inclusion in the Threadless + Gap line. A few months later, I got the word that Rock On had made the final cut. Needless to say, I was relieved, thrilled and humbled by the news. All I can really say is THANK YOU. To the small army of family, friends and LBB supporters. To the good folks at Threadless and Gap. To the Threadless community. You've all helped to turn a silly little dream into a great big wonderful reality. Now go snag this kick ass tee for yourself!
Happy Monday everyone! In an effort to make Monday's suck a little less, I've started a series of weekly drawings called Celebrity Cyclops. The concept is self-explanatory. I hope this brings a little smile to your face!
Up first is one of my favorite comedians and legendary TV dad, Bill Cosby. ![]() Who else would you like to see as a cyclops? Post your suggestions below!
Seasons greetings, everyone! I have sub up for voting as part of the College Atrium challenge. Please show some love for my Fighting Illini-inspired sub, WIN. Thank you!
