Anyone else getting sick of reading that?

lol, so many people get their knickers in a knot over even artistic nudes. I understand a dislike of the verging-on-pornagraphic images with big breasts and bums, etc. But I have seen some lovely, albeit nude, designs getting a really odd reaction. Well, the new competition and this perception of nude=naughty theme that pervades threadless led me to create this design:


I am not sure how it will go, but for the particulary body-squeemish I did not include a huge amount of detail around the parts of the body that people exclaim about. But she is most definitely NOT wearing clothing. And she is doing so in a tasteful way. Nude isn't Naughty.

I got this as part of the haul I bought during the sale (

I thought this could be an interesting collection, songs and poems from childhood are often fond recollections and fluffly and snuggly like clouds made of marshmallows. Or about spew and snot and dead possums in the outside dunny (I had a few books of those verses as a kid too).

So I invite everyone to put up there favourite poem, song or limmerick that they adored as a child.

To start here is mine:

The Frog jumped out of the pond one day
And found himself in the rain
Said he, "I'll get wet and I might catch a cold."
So he jumped in the pond once again.

Yeah, think about it...
There are many I like, but the irony of this one appealed to me since my Playschool watching days. Silly froggy.

Bad Wolf got sub'ed!! Hopefully it wont be "I dont get it" to death as wullagaru thought it might be, it seems atleast some people get it, but maybe he is right since a few were obviously not understanding, not many though -- so fingers crossed. (wullagaru's Birds of Pray design rocks btw).


If it gets printed I'll have to buy a bundle and send to the cast of Dr Who :-)

I had bad wolf on the brain and did a number of sketches.
I guess I'll see how it goes... if it gets knocked back for technical reasons I may re-work it. I am quite taken with the concept. Serves me right for watching too much TV really....

I was very happy with the sale, though by the time i got around to buying my Tees (need to bulk ship what with living outside of US) some of them had sold out :'(

But still, getting a bundle of new tees soon! Yay!

So that design had size issues, so I made it smaller and put it back up:

One at bottom placement with wrap, one across the chest.

I also finally put this idea up:

Perhaps i will re-work that one if it doesnt make it -- perhaps making it more geometric and 2D to cut down on clutter... personally I like the clutter, but it may be distracting.

I hope it gets printed, mostly because I want one to wear myself and buy as gifts for others. I just decided since the prize isn't the big thing for me I'd donate half of whatever it is to WWF, to help so less elephants (and other animals) end as angels before their time.

Afraid it may be too feminine to get up, there are a lot of guys here and some girls don't like a girly style.

But oh well, c'est la vie.

I decided to try a new approach with the design.

Meaning (light or heavy) and humour are all the rage so I thought of this:


I figured I'd give it a go, the seahorse may be put up later after I've fixed it, dunno. Depends on the response people give (if any is given).

Sigh, "one of those days (turtle)" didn't make it through. Shame, I liked him. Maybe I'll rework it and see what can be done to make it more appealing.

I finished these off so I thought I would put them up:

Both are having a bad day ...

I like the turtle best, that expression is priceless, but I like the colour and placement of the puppy (I considered putting the turtle in the same placement too) but I am not sure what other people will think.
I reckon the puppy could do with a bit more work, but I thought I would put them in together so I put him in a simpler/rougher style.

Just put up two designs: completely different from eachother so people won't get bored.

This one, Rain Dreaming, is cute and has meaning (the rain here is in short supply):
-- they didn't like this one so I put it in critique to see if anyone has any ideas. I like this deign and would love to have it on shirt myself.


Then there is the hippocampe (hippocampus):


Hippocampe has not as much meaning: but who doesnt like hippocampus? ... or is it a plural? Hippocampi? Hippocampuses? Hippocampoda?? Anyway, they are great. I will be doing a few hippocampus designs and hopefully some people will like them :)
