About my design

"Tabula rasa" is a Latin phrase meaning "clean slate." In this interpretation, every person eventually gets a second chance in life, even if it's not until after death. This can be taken to mean whatever you believe, whether it's reincarnation, an afterlife, etc. The names and dates on the tombstones are of some well-known people who could've used a second chance in life. Some died very young, some made bad decisions, and some just encountered many problems out of their control.

Seems quite complicated for a t-shirt design, it took me a while to figure out the point.

I really like the concept, but I wish there were more details in the tombstones (cracks, individual fonts, etc).

Thanks for the comments so far. With so many people to choose from, I tried to use a variety of famous people and not just musicians (because, unfortunately, there are tons of musicians who died young).

The shirt is kind'a confusing, especially considering the accepted meaning of the term "tabula rasa" as the psychological term to mean that everyone is born as a "blank slate" and is then shaped by their life experiences.

The term has been in use since the writings of Aristotle. There are several meanings.

I don't know about the "tabula rasa". In John Twelve Hawks' "The Traveler" (a good book, not a great book, but okay) the "bad guys" are called the Tabula. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
