About my design

by welshalex
For anyone else who likes to look at their circuitboard collection & imagine they are little towns with oil refineries & shops & factories & houses.

Comments appreciated.

your perspectives are off

It is a nice idea, and one that I'd probably wear if it were executed well, but J-Ray's right. The perspectives are off all over the place and it really distracts from what would otherwise be pretty cool.

The little car and the statue are nice touches.

It was meant to be more of something from a youthful imagination rather than a technical thing, but I can see how it could be annoying.

Thanks for the constructive criticism, if anyone can tell me how the crit section works (how do people see it), i'll try that next time.

awsome idea, and i dont mind the perspective thing really. but the colours a little too full on for me. this might be cool in tones of gray, black and white...

but it is a really great idea, and captures the imagination.

I agree with maybe different colours, but I totally love the rest of it - I so used to imagine little cities when I was a kid - frigging love it, and I would buy it for my dad and bro. 5$

You need to lengthen out the green "electronics base" if you will.

The pattern just needs to be stretched so it looks like the same angles as the houses.

$4.

a 5 with the fixes.

I like the colours being so bright, and I don't mind the perspectives, mainly because I don't know anything about them. I really like that little statue.

The only thing I would change is the background green, maybe to gray or something, I'm not sure exactly... it just doens't work for me.

yeah, not quite working yet, needs more detail?

good concept though.

The perspective on this is really funky. Try drawing out a circuit board for the ground from above, then warping that image to how you want it.

i agree that the colors are a little overbearing. other wise it would be pretty good, even if the perspective is off

damn, your idea schools mine. if you fix the perspectives, i'd say you've got yourself a very nice design.

Awesome idea. I agree -- make the city more realistic, fix the perspectives, and it's an awesome execution.

it might also be kind of nifty to make the design smaller, to mirror the board in life ... but I suppose you may lose some detail and make the whole exercise pointless.

Good concept, but I agree that the mismatched perspectives are pretty distracting. If you can fix that (and perhaps rethink your choice of colors), you'd have a hit. You're *almost* there. :)

Might want to rethink the colours. Especially the white and shirt colour.

That design would be one of the best ever if the perspectives were better. Even so, it's really creative and humorous. A four, five with fixes.

It's really nice to have such useful and constructive comments.

Thanks everyone.

Perspective's a little whack but great design - great colours

I think it's cool! I work with printed circuit boards, which are most commonly green so I have no problem with the colour.

If you want to be picky about the perspectives (or just rude J-Gay.... I mean Ray) i'd have to say you're thinking about it too much. But you're entitled to your opinion.

I would definately buy one and so would my electronics classmates!

I really love this tee, but like the others, the perspective issue would bug me too much unfortunately...please fix it and I'll happily buy it :D

I love it!! I totally imagined circuitboard were cities. The colours are fantastic, the green is so electric, it matches the mood perfectly. I'd totally buy it!! Any chance of adding glow-in-the-dark?
