Simulated process. Gaia carrying the earth. Her hair/leaves/branches are more barren because most trees drop there seeds in the fall, and since she is clearly near the end of her term I thought it fitting.

The plants are cut from photos of green leaves, giving it a funky texture. The darker lines in the skin are to simulate parched earth.

why does the shirt change colour near the leaves? is this just bad photoshopping or do you mean to have a different colour there.. because if so i don't think it's working for this design.

It's 'sposed to be darker between the leaves. I thought it added something to it, but I guess not.

you seem to really want criticism though, sadly most people on threadless don't give it and can't take it.

again:

the colour between the leaves is very distracting and looks like you mistakingly forgot to colour that in or something rather than something purposeful. if it were more like a gradient reaching up past the leaves it would work a bit better but overall it doesn't really seem necessary.



it might be in your best interest to have parts of these actually drawn by hand. mixing photographic elements and actual drawn i images together would get rid of that 'photoshop' feel people are getting from this design.

also this is mostly personal but designs that begin at the bottom of a shirt seem less professional, shirt designs shouldn't have frame of references (very rarely does this work), and it would be nice if the entire design existed on the shirt, maybe the same woman kneeling, pregnant, and surrounded by foliage.

If I saw someone wearing this I would laugh and throw feces on them. Oh, I am a designer too. I work for Bazooka Joe bubble gum and design the labels, so that makes me a designer. This site is getting lame.
