I'm SO GLAD he doesn't have a wooden leg as suggested above. This is beautiful as is - it doesn't need stupid seafaring "gimmicks" to make it work. LOVE the contrast of color on the squid's arms, eyes and tentacles that are out of the water and the subtlety of the muted colors/contrast of the submerged parts and the maids.

Gah! why are so many people offended by boobs? Boobs are really lovely! And I don't see why they're so "family unfriendly" either - they are there to feed BABIES! how is that unsuitable for children?!
Are John Waterhouse paintings (not to mention a whole crapload of others) unsuitable for children? Cos you know, they have NIPPLES in them onoes! And boy nipples aren't considered offensive. If you find boobs offensive it's because you've swallowed sexist social conditioning WAY to hard - in some cultures, women have to keep their hair covered because it's sexually objectified and therefore considered inappropriate, maybe we should ask that no designs feature womens' hair either :P |

pink's a bit vibrant for my taste, but absolutely love the design. also, BOOBIES! jk, but good artistic choice to not censor mermaids. gives it a more authentic quality.
