I'm just curious, if you're British how did you end up doing something Finland-inspired? You into Finnish design and culture?
I quite like the shirt! :) |

Many thanks everyone, really flattered by all the comments here, it seems like a really strong community.
@Akaka I'm from the UK, but that shouldn't restrict my choices, right? My inspiration comes from appreciation of another culture, and research into their aesthetics and history. For example, see http://www.threadless.com/submission/250890/Musica_e_Vida for a Brazilian Woodcut inspired design. I'm really glad you like the design! |

@Akaka,
Thanks for your validation: If a Finn says it's very Finnish, then I've done my homework ok! :) I have no family connections to Finland, but I'd love to visit one day. Thanks again! |

@ladyV
Thanks for your input, I always appreciate constructive criticism. I do see what you mean, it is quite a heavy design against bright white. You can see it on silver grey here and I think that softens it a little. I'll bear your comments in mind when I'm improving on this design! |

Good luck Xander. Hope the powers that be at Threadless choose this as a design for print. My wife will buy one for sure if they do.

About my design
According to Finnish myth, "lintukoto" is a place on the edge of the earth where birds fly for winter, and translates as "home of the birds".
Printed in rich red ink on a silver grey, or white on red.
