Yeah I'm positive this is based on the NEW Tron Legacy movie coming out this December. It's NOT based on the first Tron movie which that other hoodie is based on that a couple of people here mentioned about. They are both completely different designs and from different movies.
I have seen many different Tron costume type of shirts online. To say one on here is an original idea compared to the other is dumb. Does it make either one of these Tron shirts on here less cool? NO! They are BOTH great designs. Nuff said.

I can confirm that the glow ink on the Tron hoody and tee that looks scarily similar to this that Threadless printed already works perfectly, so it should be fine.

The new film naturally looks stylistically very similar to the old one, actually. Very impressive - just a bit more glossy and polished. This, however looks like a less impressive version of the hoody and tee already printed. Sorry but saying this one is for the new film is not going to cut it. The Tron design already printed was paying homage to the original at the time when the new one was being released.

I have to say this design looks nothing like the other tron designs on this site. I'm trying to understand why someone else can't make a tron design just because others did before him. Get off yourselves, seriously.

Great design, dude. Your purpose was clear from the beginning; it's a design based off the new movie, which is directly based off the first movie back in the 80's. Purpose complete.

Thanks, Aled. I personally don't have a problem with this design, anyway (even if it's been compared to mine) I'm actually just not very keen on this because it's too simple. Like my first attempts 2 years ago, it's just not polished enough and in addition all of the different screens it would take to print this design would cost a fortune, not to mention getting the registrations right would be a pain in the bitch.

The original Tron designs are far more intricate and technical-looking, evoking a sense of motherboards and computer chips. The Legacy decals use more curves, are more simplistic and are far less intricate and with their being brighter and sleeker, they evoke the idea of our current love of marrying design with functionality.

This is a fine design and I'd rock it as a hoodie...not so much as a T-Shirt. Then again I live the northeast so...

The lesson we should learn here is to never just slap pop on a shirt. This isn't a concept. this is replicating an outfit. And as such, while I don't particularly care for the first one for the same reasons, there's really no reason to expect the slightly modified newer one would be picked up. That's just pathetic.

Put another way, the print Lost a Wheel, which shows the batmobile skidded off into the snow, does not need to be updated with each successive reimagining of the batmobile. That is stupid.

I really REALLY hope this design gets chosen. I have the "My Other Ride Is A Light Cycle" sarc hoodie and tron t, and I would LOVE to wear this tshirt and pullover to the movie opening night. The one thing I hated about the previous design was that it was a zip up, but it was traditional to the age of the older movie... zip ups were all the rage... pullovers are more modern and this design is so freaking sexy... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE print this design in black light / glow in the dark ink, PLEASE!

i just watched the movie last night and REALLY want to make a costume of some sort for next year's comic-con and/or halloween. but since i'm not that creative or resourceful, this hoodie would be an amazing substitute and would be more practical than a full costume.

Sorry folks. It's been a while. Sorry but this design is not getting printed. The voting was done a while back. The same goes for the other Tron Legacy design I submitted. Thanks for all your support. I don't have any plans on resubmitting this here and I don't really know of any other site I could submit the design to, to get printed. Plus I'm busy working on other projects right now and don't when I'll get a chance to getting back to this stuff. Like some have said the design is a little complex for printing and would be too costly to make.

I just made this profile for the purpose of making this particular post. I've read all previous comments.

After getting home from seeing TRON: Legacy for the fourth time, I decided it was time to go looking for something awesomely TRON-ish to wear that I'd love just as much as the movie. So I searched the web. I was looking for something very similar to what Sam Flynn wears in the movie because, come on, who doesn't want to wear one of those freaking awesome dark suits with the lighted highlights all over it?

So I searched and searched. I found that crappy 70 dollar adidas hoodie. I found the ancient-looking "My Other Ride Is a Light Cycle" design here. I began to lose hope. Through extensive Google searching and following forum links, I finally found this design. It is exactly what I wanted. It is exactly what millions of new TRON fans want.

I am no new TRON fan. I saw the original many years ago. I would never be caught dead wearing that ancient-looking "M.O.R.I.A.L.C." design. I have huge amounts of respect for the original movie, especially as a gamer who knows exactly what a technological marvel it was for the movie industry.

However, that hoodie looks horrible. First and foremost, the thing is a nasty turquoise blue. Please show me an image from the original TRON movie where he or Flynn is wearing something that color. Second, why are there no pictures anywhere of the back? Since there are none, I'm assuming it's either blank or simply says "TRON" on the back or something. You realize that means that the most important component of anyone's suit on the Grid is missing, right? The Identification Disc. That ancient design displays no disc. This new one does. Do I sound nitpicky? I hope so. I'm a die-hard TRON fan--you better believe I'm gonna nitpick.

@ everyone who rated this design poorly: You've failed a lot of TRON fans with your votes. I hope you don't consider yourselves fans of the new movie, because you'd be lying to yourselves. Also, I don't know how fashionable Threadless claims to be, but you people certainly don't make it seem like it's supposed to be fashionable at all. Fashion is ever-changing. I saw some comments about how the old one looks better because it's the original style. That's technically an opinion, but if it was stated as a fact, it would be false. Ever notice how the word "fashion" is usually coupled with words like "latest" and "newest"? That's because fashion needs to change in order to stay fashionable. Old fashion is no fashion in today's society. This is still TRON, it's just new and done better, and is also currently more popular due to the new movie.

@ HDDoobie: You released this design WAY too early. I mean, props to you for finding images and whatnot from the new movie in advance in order to make this design, but HOLY CRAP man. If you had waited until some people had seen the new movie, you'd be the one responsible for millions of peoples' favorite hoodie. Your timing was way off. You notice how right after your submission, the only people to rate your design were these Threadless regulars? Additionally, see how now, after the movie has come out, you've got lots of people going out of their way to create accounts to ask about this? Yeah. That's exactly what I did, and I would have supported your design, had the opportunity to do so not ended so long ago. I can't understand how you expected the support of fans of the new movie before anyone had even seen it.

@ Threadless: I hope you realize what a huge mistake you made by not printing this. You'd have made a ridiculous profit off of this because there is nowhere else out there yet where a hoodie just like this can be purchased.

I will not be returning to Threadless. This site is horrible for not printing hoodies like this, especially when it would have made such a huge profit. And the community is horrible for saying that this design is a copy of the ancient one.

Great design, as for the threadless community... not so great.

Like others, I created this account because I want this Hoodie. I am quite disappointed in the failure of this item to be printed, and disappointed that HDDoobie doesn't plan on resubmitting it. I would gladly pay between $50 - $65 for this, as I'm sure many other TRON fans would as well. This is so much better than the MORIALC versions, mainly due to the color choices they made. (If the MORIALC versions had been the correct coloration, they would have been amazing for the 1982 movie.)

This is also MUCH better than the ADIDAS versions, which are quite bland and not worth the $65 they want just for the brand name..

Please HDDoobie, I will gladly buy this for a reasonable price. Or at least tell us how to get it created.

A lot of the people in this thread, including me, saw this amazing design for a shirt and registered just to post here. I completely agree with Neovolpe. I first saw this design posted on Tumblr a few weeks ago and desperately wanted one. And now, it looks like it will never be printed.

I am extremely disappointed at the the Threadless community. All everyone here seems to do is flame new users of being "fake". Honestly, this design is much better than the other ones I've seen on this site and much cleaner than the ones you guys called "the original". This community really isn't one and is so completely backwards. Just because more than one shirt comes from the same theme, doesn't mean it's the same thing.

HDDoobie please resubmit it or get it printed somewhere. I'd gladly pay much more than what you'd get from threadless.

You do realise there's a second movie, right? New designs ...this IS a new design. And quite possibly one of the best as well!
