at least I think it would work without him considering the imagery you're using by contrasting the wall with the tree... it reminds me of being in a battle torn village, the only thing left besides the destroyed abandoned houses is nature. life goes on. very provocative

I don't like the guy for some reason. Is his neck thick because he's wearing a coat or does he have a neck brace? And his hair looks weird. But all nit-picking aside, this is a very fresh design and nicely illustrated.

get rid of the guy's mustache.

I really like this, even though I'm getting a little tired of the silouette thing, too. I like the brick and the coloring in this, as well as the overall feel. Two things that sorta bugged me:



1. The guy's neck, as CheesecakeBree mentioned, is abnormally thick. It's not horrible, but it does read more like a brace or a really thick coat. I think I'd like it better if it were skinnier.



2. That both the guy and the bird are in perfect profile. Again, not necessarily abnormal, but it detracts from the design. Maybe one could be at an angle, or even have them facing eachother?



Otherwise, I really like it! Great job!

I usually hate this kind of cliched 'negative space' imagery, but that looks fucking awesome!

Good execution on a tired idea but needs minor touching up:

The tree- it's TOO centered, offset it some to give it more interest.
